Booking Conditions

1. General

Guests undertake to keep the holiday cottage and all furniture, fixtures, fittings and effects in or on the premises in the same state of repair and condition as at the commencement of the holiday and also undertakes to leave the premises in the same state of cleanliness and general order in which it was found. Eden Valley Escapes should be compensated for any damage and breakages that may occur (fair wear and tear excepted).

2. Bookings

Subject to availability of the accommodation requested, bookings will be confirmed upon receipt of the deposit. Receipts will not be issued for the balance of the fee unless requested. Should a receipt be required please send a stamped, self-addressed envelope with your cheque for the balance of the cost of the holiday accommodation. The accommodation may only be used by the person named on the booking form. The number in the party must not exceed that which was booked.

3. Payment

A deposit of 10% of the total cost is required to secure a booking. The balance is due at least six weeks before the commencement of the holiday. The full cost of the holiday is payable on any booking made within six weeks of the date booked. At this time we are only able to accept payment by cheque, which must be cleared 10 days prior to arrival, or cash.

4. Cancellation

If the guest finds it necessary to cancel the holiday before the final balance is due he should inform Eden Valley Escapes immediately who will then endeavour to re-let the cottage. If the cottage is re-let the deposit will be returned less an administration fee of £25. In the event that the cottage is not re-let then, unfortunately, all monies paid are forfeit and the person booking the holiday will be liable for the full cost of the booking. If the guest finds it necessary to cancel the holiday after the final balance becomes due, whether or not the final balance has been paid, then unless the cottage is re-let the guest will be liable for the full cost of the holiday. We strongly advise that you insure against cancellation.

5. Arrival/Departure

Guests are requested to arrive at Eden Valley Escapes after 3.00 pm on the day of arrival and, to assist us in ensuring the cottages are ready for the arrival of new guests, to vacate the cottage before 10.00 am on the day of departure. Please ensure that you hand in the cottage keys before leaving.

6. Pets

By prior arrangement, guests are welcome to bring two small well-behaved dogs (no puppies) free of charge.  Guests are respectfully requested to ensure that their pets are not allowed on beds or other furnishings and never left unattended in the property. For the benefit of other guests dogs must be kept on a lead in the grounds of Eden Valley Escapes and any ‘mess’ cleared while in the gardens/grounds of Eden Valley Escapes. Any extra cleaning of the cottage required due to pets will be charged at the rate of £25. Any damage caused by pets while at Eden Valley Escapes will be charged at a rate to cover repair / replacement. 

7. Smoking

For the benefit of non-smokers, we ask guests not to smoke inside any of the cottages.

8. Complaints

Eden Valley Escapes tries to do everything possible to create an environment for an enjoyable holiday but occasionally things can go wrong. Please make any complaints during occupation of the cottage and we will do what we can to resolve the matter. It is regretted that no correspondence can be entered into in the case of complaints made upon departure or after your return home, when it will surely be appreciated that it is quite impossible for the problems to be effectively investigated or corrected.

9. Liability

The Proprietors do not accept liability for loss or damage to personal property brought to Eden Valley Escapes, however caused. The Proprietors do not accept liability for any personal injury sustained by guests or visitors to Eden Valley Escapes, however caused.

10. Privacy Policy

The Proprietors need to know your name and address in order to confirm the booking of a cottage or respond to requests. Unless you advise us otherwise the Proprietors will add these details to a database in order that we may correspond with you at the end of the year.

When a cottage is booked the Proprietors require a credit or debit card number and expiry or issue date in order to process the booking. A telephone number and email address are requested to facilitate communication regarding the booking.

Eden Valley Escapes are committed to protecting your privacy. We do not sell, trade, rent, exchange or distribute in anyway your personal details.

As required by the UK Data Protection Acts of 1984 and 1998, we follow strict security procedures in the storage and disclosure of information which you have given us, to prevent unauthorised access. The person responsible for privacy matters is Suzan Fawcett.
